Chapter 13 bankruptcy is commonly referred to as "reorganization" bankruptcy because it allows individuals to reorganize their debts and pay them off using court-defined "disposable income" via a 3 to 5 year payment plan. As long as you meet your installment payments on time, you can keep your house, your car and any other property included in your debt reorganization plan.

Chapter 13 bankruptcy is also known as "wage earner" bankruptcy because, in order to qualify for it, people must have a reliable source of income which they can use to pay down their debts.

Our law firm has extensive experience with Chapter 13 bankruptcy and knows how to create payment plans that are manageable for clients and acceptable to both the court and the creditors.
